Growing up, I wasn't crafty at all. I was the girl who took Art because I needed the credit and there wasn't anything else to take. Same with Home Ec. In fact, if they had a category for 'Most Likely To NOT Be Crafty' my senior year, I feel sure that I would have won! No one was more surprised than me when I started sewing, painting and finally paper crafting.

Over the years, I've dabbled in several crafts. I've sewn, made jewelry and even tried cross stitch. Of course, as usual, I came to scrapbooking late. My daughter's senior year, a friend and I decided we wanted to make a scrapbook for our kids' graduation parties. We teamed up with another couple of friends who were scrapbookers, to get started. I didn't even go along to purchase my first supplies. I just let my friends pick up what they thought were necessities, wrote a check and showed up to have my first introduction to paper crafting. Well, little did I know that I was going to find my perfect fit! I loved that I was getting pictures in books, telling the story of my daughter's senior year and doing a hobby that I loved. That one senior book turned into 3 books, my son's senior book, Eagle Scout books and a whole lot more.

When it comes to style, I find it hard to describe mine. You are just as likely to see bright colors as well as muted colors on pages. One thing that stays consistent is my love for embellishments. I'm pretty sure that I've never met an embellishment that I didn't like. I probably love ribbon and flowers the most. In fact, you will rarely see one of my pages without a ribbon or bow somewhere. I would put flowers on everything, too but my son prefers his pages without them.

I've been married for 26 years to a wonderful guy and we were blessed with 2 children. Our daughter is 25 and our son is 23. I was very lucky to be able to be a stay at home mom. I might have been a bit late to the party, but the timing was perfect for me. Scrapbooking is a wonderful hobby that allows me to be creative and helps keep me busy now that our children no longer live at home. My skill set has definitely improved over the years, but I still love to look back at those first pages. They might be really simple and wouldn't win any design contests, but each page tells a tiny bit of our story.

We are so excited to have Robbie as a member of our new 3 Birds Design Team. Thank you for flying by today and every day this week, as we have introduced our new Design Team. Stay tuned next week as we being sharing some sneak peeks of our new collection!

I’m Mary Ann Jenkins from sunny Southern California. I have 3 awesome boys, 1 sweet little princess, and a wonderful husband that are the subjects of many of my scrapbook layouts. I love recording the memories and stories we create in our everyday lives.

I’ve been scrapping since 1987, when I heard a commercial on the radio about learning to preserve family memories. A few patterned papers and decorative scissors later I was hooked, and never imagined scrapbooking would become a passion, or that I would have a room in my home dedicated to the hobby.

I have been fortunate to have my projects published in the top scrapbooking magazines, idea books and manufacturers catalogs and have had my work displayed at the Craft & Hobby Trade Show, I love sharing my ideas and inspiration! You can find me blogging at: http://www.maryannjenkins.com/

When I am not in my studio making a mess I enjoy flea markets, spending time with my family, shopping for hours at Target, taking my camera everywhere I go, and bracelets. A girl can never have too many bracelets!

We are so excited to have Mary Ann as a member of our new 3 Birds Design Team. Fly back tomorrow as we introduce another of our new Design Team members.

Hi!  I am Katrina and I live in Midwest USA. I am currently owned by four Cardigan Welsh Corgis, who appear in my layouts from time to time (or A LOT of the time)! Higgins, Ella, Jetson and Sheldon are their names and their personalities fit those names perfectly. Two of the dogs, Higgins and Ella, are certified to do pet therapy thru a local organization here. We do a couple of different visits. One is to a Pediatrics floor at a local hospital.  The other is to an Alzheimer's care facility at a nursing home.

I’ve discovered as an adult that I love to create and craft. During the day I work for a non-profit agency that helps senior citizens in our area. At night is when the crafty side comes out. I was never the artsy type while growing up, unless you count cutting my doll’s hair. It started with finding out I loved to cross-stitch. Then I tried knitting (epic fail)! Don't ask me about cooking, that is a fail area also. Except I CAN bake, that's different than cooking.

I have been scrapbooking since February 2009, when I decided to make a mini album for a friend. I discovered that I loved it! Well, let’s just say after that I went nuts with the paper, scissors, and glue. I love color, the more the better. To define my style is hard, as I do what makes me happy. I like to scrap everyday life and you never know what the subject of my project might be. I like to show that you don't have to have kids to love scrapbooking. Although, you will see some adorable ones in my layouts from time to time! I am lucky that I have some friends that I can "borrow" subjects from!

I have been so blessed in the short time that I have been scrapbooking to be on some fun and amazing teams. Former manufacturer teams include -The Twinery, GCD, Nikki Sivils, and Basically Bare. I have also guest designed for Little Yellow Bicycle, Making Memories, Lily Bee Design, Jillibean Soup and American Crafts. My current teams include Imaginisce, Therm O Web Adhesives, WorldWin Cardstock, CREATE magazine and a contributor to PaperHaus magazine.

We are so excited to have Katrina as a member of our new 3 Birds Design Team. Fly back tomorrow as we introduce another of our new Design Team members.

Juliana Michaels 3 Birds Studio Design Team MemberMy love for art and creating began at an early age thanks to my creative mother who loved to paint, sew and draw. She also loved to photograph our daily lives and kept all of our photos chronologically organized in albums. This early appreciation of art and photography helped form the base of my future love of scrapbooking and papercrafting. When I was younger, I tried nearly every craft you could imagine, including bead making, cross stitch and crochet. It wasn’t until 1997 that I finally found my true passion in paper crafts and scrapbooking, thanks to a dear friend, Carrie Anne. I can thank her for introducing me to the amazing world of scrapbooking.

Color, texture, trying new techniques and playing with new products are what I love. The products are almost always what inspire me to create whatever it is that I make, whether it be a card, a scrapbook page or an altered object/home decor item. I also get inspiration from nature, art, and home decor. You can always visit my blog (www.17turtles.com) to see my latest creations.

I have been a project designer in the paper craft and scrapbook industry since 2007 and I have been fortunate to work for many top manufacturers including: Bo Bunny, Bella Blvd, Provo Craft, and Jillibean Soup. My projects have been published in a variety of magazines and idea books and I have had projects displayed at the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show.

When I am not creating, I am a wife to my best friend and the love of my life. I am also “momma” to our four legged children, Woody, an American Paint horse and Milo, a Golden Retriever. I have a fondness for coffee, Dr. Pepper, Mexican Food, turtles and antiquing.  In my spare time I enjoy working out, cooking, gardening, and reading science fiction and historical fiction. I also work part time as a physical therapist at a local nursing home.

We are so excited to have Juliana as a member of our new 3 Birds Design Team. Fly back tomorrow as we introduce another of our new Design Team members.

Growing up in a family that owned a printing/copying business, paper has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I loved to go to my dad’s shop and take home several sheets of beautifully colored paper to create books, cards, and drawings. My love for paper bled over to Mrs. Grossman’s stickers, mini Hello Kitty stationery sets, markers, colored pencils, watercolors, and art classes in school. When I was in high school, my mom attended a scrapbooking home party. She came home and showed us what she had made. I immediately thought to myself, “I want to do that!” Ever since then, I have been scrapbooking in one form or another.

As a mother of young children, I was searching for a creative outlet. I began participating in online challenges and design teams, which helped me to push myself creatively and try new things. This is when scrapbooking started to become a part of my daily life.

My scrapbooking style has a traditional vibe about it with lots of layers and details. I love to add whimsical details, play with color and pattern combinations, and layer on the texture and embellishments. For me, inspiration is everywhere! I love looking at designs in print ads, children’s clothing, and interior decorating. I especially love to study the shapes, color combinations, and textures in interiors and then try to translate those ideas into a scrapbook page. I love working with fresh, happy colors.

My creative process usually begins with the products. I love to mix together the latest-and-greatest with vintage finds or “classic” scrapbook supplies. I select my photos and print them out. I like to use smaller-sized photos so that I have room left over on the page to add other design elements. Next, I pull out the patterned papers and start combining them in layers on my page. I don’t really have a plan. Sometimes I sketch out ideas, but most of the time I just go with the flow. Once I have my basic design in place, I get to my favorite part of the process . . . embellishing! For me, adding the finishing touches to a page is like placing the final dozen pieces in a jigsaw puzzle. I get absorbed with finding “just the right piece” for each corner. I especially love adding dimensional details. It is such a satisfying process for me. And the best part is that at the end of it all, I have created something that pays tribute to something that is most important to me, life with my family.

Scrapbooking has become a part of who I am. If I’m not scrapping, I’m spending time with and creating new memories with my family. I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 daughters and 1 son and have been married to my best friend, Kevin, for 17 years. We live in Bountiful, Utah.

We are so excited to have Jana as a member of our new 3 Birds Design Team. Fly back tomorrow as we introduce another of our new Design Team members.
