Fall Favorites | Scrapping with Pocket Cards

Hi 3 Birds Fans! It's Juliana from 17turtles. The weather where I live has been on the hot side lately and it's finally feeling a bit more like summer, but this did not stop me from wanting to scrap some fall photos using the new For All Seasons Themed Cards. (These will be coming to HSN on September 2. Stay tuned tomorrow for more details and a GIVEAWAY!)

Fall Favorite Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley For All Seasons Themed Cards When I first looked through the cards, I was immediately drawn to the "fall favorites" card with its gold foil contrasted against the dark brown background and delicate green leaves. I knew I had to figure out a way to use that card!

Fall Favorite Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley For All Seasons Themed Cards I choose several photos of one of my favorite fall things - pumpkins. I seriously love anything made from pumpkin and orange is one of my favorite colors, so the "Fall Favorites" card was a perfect match for my layout!

Fall Favorite Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley For All Seasons Themed CardsI then added a variety of stickers from the Sticker Flair Kit and Midday Medley 3D Embellishment kit to decorate the page. I used double sided foam tape to "pop up" the small letters that I used to spell "pumpkins" to give them more dimension.

The die cut leaves are cut using a digital cut file that I created. You can visit my blog - 17turtles - for more details about it.

Fall Favorite Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley For All Seasons Themed Cards Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you have any questions about how I created this layout, just leave a comment below. I'd be happy to answer them!

HUGS!

Cherish Your Pets

Memories. It’s what scrapbooking is all about, right? I tend to scrap the current ones, but for this layout today I decided to scrap something from my past. The Corgi that started the Corgi craze in my home, Fannie.

I will admit, I shed a tear or two before I did this page and while I was journaling. But I love the page and it truly defines her memory. I used paper from the Midday Medley collection, stickers from the Sticker Flair kit and chipboard from the Graceful Season’s collection.

Cherish Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley

I started with a white cardstock base, because I loved the flowered vellum paper in the Midday Medley pack. (Trust me, I am loving the vellum!). Attaching vellum can be tricky, because unless you use a specific adhesive made for vellum, chances are it will show thru. There are ways around this, though if you do not have vellum adhesive! I covered the top area where the vellum is attached with a punched border strip. Easy! You can see the punched strip under my journaling.

Gift Set | Magnets & Trivets

Hi everyone! It's Robbie again today. Last week, on the 3 Birds Blog, I shared a card that I made using the new Pearlescent and Foil Goodie Box. On my blog, I shared a matching gift bag and tag. Today, I'm back to share the little gifties that I put together to go in the bag!

Gift Set with Coordinating Magnets and Trivets by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design Pearlescent Foil Goodie Box Graceful SeasonI love to give little kitchen gifts because everyone can use them. With the versatility of the 3 Birds collections, you are sure to be able to find a color combination that will work with any kitchen, too. For this gift, I made a couple of trivets and matching magnet set. I also added a whisk and a wooden spoon for a little extra.

DESIGNER TIP | It would be really cute to add some cup towels or wash rags. The ideas for the kitchen are endless!

Gift Set with Coordinating Magnets and Trivets by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design Graceful SeasonThe trivets are 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 tiles that I picked up at Home Depot to alter. These are perfect because you can use the 6 x 6 pads with it. These are SO SIMPLE!

Directions: Use Mod Podge to adhere your paper to the tile. After it's dried, add another coat of Mod Podge to the top. After that is completely dry, seal with a spray sealer and add cork pieces to the bottom corners.

Gift Set with Coordinating Magnets and Trivets by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design Graceful SeasonThe last thing I made was a set of 4 magnets to match. They work great as a little tie-on for gifts and are really practical, too.

Gift Set with Coordinating Magnets and Trivets by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design Graceful SeasonDirections: Glue flat-back glass pieces to small scraps of paper with Glossy Accents. If you don't have Glossy Accents, any strong glue that dries clear will work. After it is completely dry, trim around the glass piece as closely as possible. Glue a magnet to the back, also using a strong clear drying glue. I used Glossy Accents for this, as well.

Now, pop the magnets in a little organza bag, tie a great bow to attach the magnets to and put the whole thing in your matching bag. Quick and Easy gift! When you sit down to make them, think about making a couple of sets. Then you'll have another gift for when you are in a pinch!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my project!

Goodie Box Photo Wreath

Need a fun idea for decorating your teen's room? How about making a photo wreath! It’s Katrina and I have a tutorial to share on how quickly and simply make your own photo wreath that can be used over and over!

Photo Wreath Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Fun, right?! This idea came from a dear college freshman, who made one for her dorm room from fabric. She had found it on Pinterest. I did my own take on what I had seen of hers. I got a wooden wreath from a craft store to use as my base. I covered the base with Liquid Fabric Fuse Adhesive from Therm O Web, using a foam brush.

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design I then laid my base down on the back of a piece of pattern paper from the Midday Medley collection. Trim around the edges with a craft knife.

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design An easy way to trim out the middle is to cut an X in it and then trim out each section. If I try to trim out the entire piece, I have a tendency to make a mess!

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design My wreath was slightly larger than my sheet of paper (mainly because I didn’t think about it when I bought it!), so I added some extra pieces of paper to make it work out where all the edges were covered.

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design

Then I started placing clothespins around the circle to figure out how many I wanted to use.

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Once I had a good idea, then the fun begins with decorating them. Zots Bling from Therm O Web work perfectly to attach those fun Pearlescent & Foil Goodies! They are small enough to fit on the back of the gem, so that you cannot see them.

Photo Wreath Tutorial by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Some of the clips I left and just added the gems to, others I cut strips of paper to decorate them and added things here or there.

Photo Wreath Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design I used goodies from the 3D Embellishments sets and from the Sticker Flair kit. So fun to mix and match with the collections.

Photo Wreath Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Photo Wreath Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design

I alternated which way the clips were facing around the wreath. This way you can have pictures on the inside and outside of the wreath.

Photo Wreath Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design This would be a GREAT first altered project, if you haven’t done altered before. Or a fun thing for a sleepover and everyone could take home a wreath!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box Inspiration – Quilled Card

Hi everyone! Robbie here to talk about how much I love the Pearlescent and Foil Goodie Box that 3 Birds is releasing on HSN soon! This little box contains so many little flat backed pieces that are perfect for adding that extra touch of fabulous to your projects.

For today, I wanted to show you a little card that I made using quilled flowers combined with the Pearlescent and Foil pieces. After you take a look here, be sure to stop by my blog where I'm sharing a matching Gift Bag and Tag.

Thanks So Much Card by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design featuring the Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxAs you know by now, the quilled roses that you can make with the card kit are my favorites!! When I got this goodie box, I knew that I wanted to put some centers in my flowers, so that is what I did here with the card

Thanks So Much Card by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design featuring the Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxI'm including a super close photo so you can see what it looks like. I just used tiny glue dots to adhere them right to the top. I also added them to the leaves the same way. No need to push down on them, the sit perfectly right on the top of the center.

Thanks So Much Card by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design featuring the Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxOne more close up to show the dimension of my card. A strip of paper with a border of punched paper added to the card completed the base. I used a Fiskars Scalloped Border punch for the borders.

I used foam dots to raise the doily from the background. I like the way this made it sit nicely against the bow.

Once I got started, I couldn't stop playing with this combination of products. Drop by next week to see what I put in the bag!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my project! Don't forget to visit my blog to check out my coordinating Gift Bag and Tag.

3 Birds Goodie Box Goodness

HI Birdie Friends, Chasity here with a question...Who remembers the very first 3Birds "Goodie Box"!?! Huh? That yummy Embellishment Kit debuted on HSN more than 7 years ago! The acrylic, divided "Goodie Box" was filled to the brim with coordinating buttons, glitter chipboard, ribbon, brads & more! (I might just have to go into the birdie archives, and dig one out to share!) It flew out of HSN! The "Goodie Box" has come in many versions since the first and evolved with the trends, making appearances year after year... and has ALWAYS been one of my favorite kits!  The latest version, The Foil & Pearlescent "Goodie Box", coordinates with the "Graceful Seasons Collection", along with the "Midday Medley Collection" perfectly & is a huge value at over 1,400 pieces! Not only will it become a staple in your arsenal of supplies, it will be around for a long time too!

Here are a few projects I made for on air, using the latest "Goodie Box". First up is a Card using the Graceful Seasons Paper Pack, along with the "For All Seasons" Themed Cards Kit coming in September on HSN! I also used 2 floral 3D Embellishments from the Graceful Seasons Collection. Oh, and some of that fabulous Glitter Paper from the Midday Medley Paper Pack

I Adore You Card By Chasity Sivanick for #3birdsdesign #gracefulseasonscollection #forallseasonstitlecards #foilandpearlescentgoodieboxI really liked keeping my design simple, and adding just a few of the Foil & Pearlescent 1/2 spheres for a sophisticated look. All you need is your favorite clear, wet adhesive, or favorite mini glue dot. apply to the back of the 1/2 sphere and place in desired space! To add even more variety, each color comes in 2 sizes!

I also created a simple layout using the "Goodie Box". Again, I used paper from the Graceful Seasons Paper Pack, the border sticker is from the Sticker Flair Mega Sticker Kit, the 3D Embellishments are from the Graceful Seasons 3D Embellishment Kit, the title card is from the "For All Seasons" Themed Card Kit Coming soon to HSN.

See how adding just a few of the "pearls" gives the layout sophistication, without  the bulk? I also love that no matter which collection I reach for, this Embellishment Kit is going to match! I can design with confidence knowing that all my products coordinate saving me tons of time!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today! Be sure to tune into HSN in September for some more inspiration and projects created with this awesome Embellishment Kit! I promise, you will fall in love with the Foil & Pearlescent "Goodie Box"! Be sure to share with us too, if you've purchased past "Goodie Boxes", it would be fun to see!

Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box Inspiration - Scrapbook Page

We have something new and exciting coming soon to 3 Birds Studio and I already know you are going to love it! It’s called the “Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box”, and the best part, it has over 1400 pieces!!

Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box by 3 Birds Design

That’s right, over 1400 pieces of color and shine to add to your paper crafting projects! All this week the design team will be sharing projects using the Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box, so be sure you stop by for inspiration and ideas.

And now on to my project! I love old black and white photos, and this picture of my dad when he was about 7 years old is no exception. I wanted to add some color and shine to my layout, but still wanted the focus to be on the photo.

You and Me Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Design featuring Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxAfter layering pieces from the Midday Medley Paper Pad and the Nestable Festival Sticker Pad, I did a bit of machine stitching in a messy circle, right on top of the copper chevron stickers. Next I added my photo, and then various colors of the Pearlescent & Foil gems.

You and Me Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Design featuring Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxDESIGNER TIP | I used both a liquid adhesive, and glue dots to add the Pearlescent & Foil gems to my layout to see which worked best. I liked them both, so give different adhesives a try to see what works best for you.

You and Me Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Design featuring Pearlescent and Foil Goodie BoxI finished off the layout by adding the You and Me sticker and my journaling that was done on a computer and cut into small strips

Creative Cards

Hi friends! Do you like making cards, or are you like me and have a hard time creating if your project isn’t 12x12? It’s Mary Ann here today, and I actually do like making cards, but sometimes I hit that creative block if it’s not a 12x12 scrapbook layout. So how about a few cards that still use creativity, but are super simple and easy to put together!

First up is this “hello” card that I created. I started with my cardstock base, then added the floral background card from the new 3 Birds Studio Themed Cards Set which is coming to HSN in September.

Hello Card by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds DesignNext, I fussy cut the flower cluster from a coordinating paper, and added it with foam tape. I used alphabet stickers from the new Sticker Flair kit, and sprinkled a bit of glitter from my stash. To finish off the card, I adhered a few gems from the soon to be released Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box Set. The gems really set it off and add a touch of color and shine!

For my second card, I went with another simple design by using a block pattern made of 1” squares I cut from coordinating papers.

Thank You Card by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds DesignAfter I had all my squares cut, I added them to my card base. Next I layered the two journaling spots from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set, and topped them off with the vase of flowers piece from the 3D Embellishment Kit.

Thank You Card by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Design

So there you have it, two very simple but creative cards! Thanks so much for stopping by the 3 Birds Studio blog today. We love to inspire!
