Cherish Your Pets

Memories. It’s what scrapbooking is all about, right? I tend to scrap the current ones, but for this layout today I decided to scrap something from my past. The Corgi that started the Corgi craze in my home, Fannie.

I will admit, I shed a tear or two before I did this page and while I was journaling. But I love the page and it truly defines her memory. I used paper from the Midday Medley collection, stickers from the Sticker Flair kit and chipboard from the Graceful Season’s collection.

Cherish Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Design Midday Medley

I started with a white cardstock base, because I loved the flowered vellum paper in the Midday Medley pack. (Trust me, I am loving the vellum!). Attaching vellum can be tricky, because unless you use a specific adhesive made for vellum, chances are it will show thru. There are ways around this, though if you do not have vellum adhesive! I covered the top area where the vellum is attached with a punched border strip. Easy! You can see the punched strip under my journaling.

I just ran a strip of adhesive on the back of my layout and covered with my twine layers. This was enough to hold my vellum in place at the bottom! You can also staple, use embellishments to cover the adhesive area, etc. Cherish_2014-8-26_KHunt-5.jpg HERE I used chipboard and a sticker to make my title under my picture. 1. A beautiful page and beautiful memories. I too cry whenever I think of my fur-family members who have passed away. Great project Kristina.
