Honestly, a lot of the papers and chipboard that I used on this layout, I have been hoarding since I got this collection! I loved these colors so much, but I finally decided to use them! I thought this little “be happy” banner was adorable and added the chipboard flowers to it for an extra touch.

Late Night Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

You have probably noticed that I layer a lot of the embellishments. This gives the page more depth and texture. Here I added a couple of smaller foam adhesive dots under the “simply you” piece to make it balance on the glitter frame.

Late Night Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

The multi colored chipboard letters that come in the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set were a fun addition for my title. I also used a small banner and flower from the 3D Embellishment set.

Late Night Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

I really wanted to use the “this is awesome” piece, but it did not look right sitting by itself on the frame. After I added a doily underneath, it worked better. Play around with your elements. I have a lot of straight, sharp edges in this layout, but by adding the doily underneath the circle element, it blended everything together.

National Scrapbook Day Celebration - Scrapbooking Old Family Photos

Welcome to Day 3 of our National Scrapbook Celebration Week here on the 3 Birds Studio Blog! So did you like how we teased you yesterday? Well, we are in the teasing mood again today! Here is another sneak peek for you. Any guesses on what this might be? If you think you might know, leave a comment below!Midday Medley Sneak Peek 3 Birds Studio 3birdsdesign.com

We also have a scrapbook page to share with you from Mary Ann Jenkins. She has some great tips on how she scrapbooks her old family photos, that are sure to inspire you to pull your old photos out of those shoe boxes and to get them in an album!

Hi friends! It’s Mary Ann here today with a layout using a photo from 1970. It’s no secret that I love scrapping old family photos, whether black and white or color, there’s something about an old photo that is so much fun to look at! The hair styles, the clothes and even the cars give us a peek back in time to see what was popular back then.

Dad And Me Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

A lot of times, when I scrap old photos I will “clean up” the photo in photoshop to give it a brighter and more correct color. Unfortunately, so many photos from years ago have either changed color with time, or were never processed correctly so they have a yellowish-green tint to them. For this layout though, I kept the photo just as it was, and embraced the greenish tint and even coordinated my embellishments to match!

I used the journaling chipboard from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set along with the letters and numbers for my title and date.

Dad And Me Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

The “total fave” 3D embellishment was a perfect addition to tie in the colors of my photo and patterned papers. I added two banner pieces underneath it that I cut from white cardstock to make the embellishment just a bit longer, and add of pop of white at the bottom of the layout too.

National Scrapbook Day Celebration - Scrapbooking Happiness

Welcome 3 Birds Fans to Day 2 of our National Scrapbook Celebration Week! We thought we would tease you a little with a super sneaky sneak peek at one of our new products. Any guesses on what it might be? If you think you might know, leave a comment below!

Midday Medley Sneak Peek 3 Birds Studio 3birdsdesign.com

Today, Designer Robbie Herring shares about the versatility and value you get with the Graceful Season collection. You are going to be amazed at how many projects she has created with this collection!

Hey y'all! It's Robbie today to share another layout that I have made with the Graceful Season Collection. I wanted to point out today how many projects that I have made so far with this collection. To date, I have made 7 layouts, 8 cards, 2 gift boxes, 1 gift bag and 1 gift bucket. That's a LOT of projects! It's also important to point out that I have only been working with 1 set of the collection and I still have a LOT of beautiful things to work with!

As you know, I've talked about the versatility so much and today I wanted to make sure that you also knew that you get a lot of product for such a great price!

Today, I'm sharing layout number 7. I have such a love of flowers, so for this layout I used some of the beautiful floral papers and added a few little floral accents.

Happiness Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring using 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

I started by choosing the floral background paper to frame my layout and then chose to add a 10x10" square with a more subtle pattern to build my layout on. I fussy cut the large floral pattern out of one of the papers and then tucked it in randomly around the page.

Happiness Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring using 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

Next, I layered my embellishments behind and even on top of the photo. If you look closely, you will see that some of the embellishing is done over the frame and some of it is under the frame. Even the photo has corners that are tucked under and overlap the top.

Happiness Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring using 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

To finish the page, I added a bit of stitching and a few more embellishments for balance across the page.

DESIGNER TIP | Add to simple embellishments to make them really pop! I added a punched scalloped circle and a tiny pearl sticker to the glitter circle to give it a bit more wow power!

National Scrapbook Day Celebration - Scrapping School Memories

National Scrapbook Day 3 Birds Studio 3birdsdesign.comWelcome to Day 1 of our week long National Scrapbook Day Celebration here on the 3 Birds Studio Blog! Each day this week, one of our design team members will be sharing a scrapbook page focusing on ways to scrapbook different kinds of photos and memories.

To celebrate this week, we will be having a giveaway on National Scrapbook Day Saturday, May 3. You will have the chance to enter to win one of our new products BEFORE you can buy it! Also, throughout the week, we will be sharing sneak peeks of our new products that will be released on HSN on May 14. Make sure you stop by each day so that you don't miss a thing!

Hi Everyone! Jana Eubank here. Do you have a specific holiday or occasion that you love to scrapbook over and over? For me, I love working on school-related pages. I love the first day of school, school pictures, class pictures, class activities, you name it! This time I have a page featuring photos of my kids sneaking out of their building on the last day of school last year. (Don’t worry, I really checked them out, but they had fun pretending to escape. Ha! Ha!)

Good Bye Routine Scrapbook Page by Jana Eubank for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season collection HSN.com 3birdsdesign.comNormally, when we approach school photos, we tend to reach for traditional Primary colors of red, yellow, blue, and green. Why not do something different? Here, I lightened the traditional primary colors up a notch by incorporating the soft colors and patterns of the Graceful Season collection.
Good Bye Routine Scrapbook Page by Jana Eubank for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season collection HSN.com 3birdsdesign.comIn the top left corner of the page I placed my journaling surrounded by darling accent elements from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set. I used three sheets from the 6 x 6 premium paper pad. I cut a small journal block from one of the sheets, and then used the yellow polka dot sheet and pink/orange circles sheet to create two pennant shapes.

I cut the large floral element from a sheet of the Graceful Season 12 x 12 Premium Paper Pad to accent the bottom right corner of my page, adding my photos right on top. The photos are playfully matted with the pink/white diagonal stripe from the same paper pad.

I used another cut out section from a sheet of the small 6 x 6 paper pad as a word in my title. I used a circle punch to punch out the word “routine” and then added it to a chipboard circle (from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set) to give it more presence.
Stars scattered throughout the page tie everything together.

Craft Room Storage Ideas - Spray Ink, Twine and Sequins

Happy Monday 3 Birds Peeps! We are here with another installment of craft room storage ideas. Today, Mary Ann shows use how she stores her spray ink, twine and sequins.  But what if you don't use any of these items in your scrapbooking? If that is the case, maybe try looking at these storage ideas in a new light. Think about how this idea might work for the products you do have in your craft room. No matter how you are inspired, hopefully you will leave with a few new ideas.

Hello! Mary Ann here to share a few ways on how I like to organize some of my scrapbooking supplies using storage products not found in a scrapbook store. First up, my spray mists and twine are stored in this Lazy Susan tray I found at Target in the kitchen department. I love how I can just spin it around to find the color I need.

Storage Ideas Ink and Twine Mary Ann Jenkins

For separating small items such as these sequins, I use plastic containers I found at a sporting goods store. These are made to hold fishing supplies, but I think sequins look a lot prettier! Don't you?!

Is your brain thinking about how to use these ideas in your craft room? What about using that Lazy Susan to store acrylic paint or embossing powder? How about using the tackle boxes for buttons, brads, and other tiny embellishments? I'm sure your mind is spinning with new ideas now! You might even have some ideas that we haven't mentioned or thought of. If so, we'd love to hear them! Leave us a comment or even a link to your blog where you have shared your craft room and storage ideas. We'd love to see it...and we might just select you to be featured on our blog!

Baptism Scrapbook Page

Happy Friday 3 Birds Fans! It's Juliana from 17turtles. Today, I want to share a very special scrapbook page with you. These photos are from the baptism of my great niece this past July. It was such a wonderful experience. My husband and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this moment and I wanted to create a special scrapbook page to record this special day.

As soon as I saw the Graceful Season collection, I knew it would be perfect for scrapbooking the photos from the baptism. I choose to do a regular 12 x 12 layout of these photos of my great niece being baptized. I have three other photos from this moment that I wanted to keep together in my album however, I choose to put them in a pocket style page. To see my coordinating pocket style scrapbook page entitled "Joy" and to learn some tips for using layered embellishments in pocket page protectors, please visit my blog: 17turtles.Today It is True Baptism Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

I was inspired by the stain glass windows in the background of the photos to create the triangle shaped pieces that I placed behind the photos and other embellishments.

To help ground the triangle shapes, I cut 1/2" strips from the green patterned paper then layered them over the triangles in various places. This also helps to draw the eye over the page and at the same time keeping your focused on the photos.

Today It is True Baptism Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

DESIGNER TIP | To get the look of stitching or a border without using a sewing machine, take a marker and ruler and draw a border or stitches along the outer edge of the paper.

I love to layer embellishments and the Sticky Sparkly chipboard pieces are perfect for this. I selected a variety of shapes that coordinated with the papers I was using and clustered them in the bottom right hand corner.

Altered Clipboard with 3 Birds Studio

Hello and Happy Thursday! Katrina Hunt here to share with you one of my favorite things to alter - a clipboard. It’s a way to be creative and have something to hang on your wall and enjoy. Today I am sharing a clipboard that I altered with the Graceful Season collection.

Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com 3birdsdesign.com

I started by pulling out my 12x12 paper pad and my clipboard. I had a few bigger pieces of scraps, so I played around until I found one that would fit and that I liked.

Selecting Paper for Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

If you buy a clipboard at a craft store, chances are it will have a removable clip. I got mine at Michael’s, but any craft store will probably have them. It’s easier to decorate if you can remove the clip. After doing that I covered my entire clipboard in matte medium gel and then placed my paper on it. I trimmed the edges with an X-acto knife and then found the holes and “remade” them, so I would know where to put the clip.

Hole placement on Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

I then started making the layers for my picture to be placed on. Once I figured them out, I adhered them all together and then placed the entire piece straight on the clipboard.

Adding Layers on Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

Next, I got busy decorating! I added the “I Adore You” embellishment from the 3D Embellishment set. I have been hoarding that piece, but thought it looked perfect on here!

Decorating the Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

I cut a doily on my Cameo out of a piece from the 6x6 mini pad. I wanted it to “hang” from the top. Once I got it down, I reattached the clip and then decorated it with a bow.

Decorating the Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

I added the “this happened” from the Sticky, Sparkly, Glitter & Foil set at the top of my picture. The chipboard is self adhesive, but I wanted a little pop to it, so I just attached it with foam adhesive.

Decorating the Altered Clipboard by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using the Graceful Season Collection 3birdsdesign.com

My final step was to add one of the chipboard labels with all their names on it and the date.

Heritage Scrapbook Page and 3D Embellishments

Hello 3 Birds Fans! Mary Ann with you to share a new heritage scrapbook page. I love old photos and I especially love old black and white ones. For this photo of my Grandparents, I wanted to add a few pretty embellishments to the layout, while still keeping the focus on photo.

I Adore you Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

I started with the patterned paper that has a design on it that reminds me of a flower bouquet. The position of this element left me with plenty of room in the center for a large photo. I gave a bit of dimension to the “bouquet” by adding some of the stickers from the Graceful Season 3D Embellishments Kit, a few leaves from the Quilled Cardmaking Kit, as well as a yellow paper flower from my stash.

I Adore you Scrapbook Page by Mary Ann Jenkins for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

Below the photo I added more 3D Embellishments, die cut leaves, a sweet little bow and the cute I Adore You piece.

DESIGNER TIP | The I Adore You piece is one of the 3D Embellishments that has a flower. I only wanted to use the words, so I simply removed the 3D flower part and kept it for another project.

A Set of Cards as a Birthday Gift

Hi everyone! It's Robbie today and I'm sharing a card that I made for an upcoming birthday. Sounds simple enough, but there is a twist to it!

Do you have someone who is particularly difficult to buy for? Do you know a shut in or even someone who isn't crafty, that would love to send a handmade card? Today I have a simple solution, that just might be the perfect gift for some of those people on your birthday list.

Set of Cards as a Gift by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com www.3birdsdesign.com

I created this little birthday card using the Quilled Cardmaking Kit. Did you notice that there is a BIG bow tied around it? That bow holds a bit of a surprise. There are four cards and four envelopes behind it!

Set of Cards as a Gift by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com www.3birdsdesign.com

In addition to the birthday card that I made for the recipient, I also made a few more cards to go with it as the gift. This way, the recipient has a variety of cards to pass on. I know there are times in my life when I'm scrambling for a card and I love having some ready-to-go cards on hand, so I thought this would make a great gift idea!

DESIGNER TIPS | CREATING A SET OF CARDS AS A GIFT

To make these in a jiffy, don't overthink the designs. Try keeping to one basic design. The Quilled Card Kit is so pretty already that it really is easy to come up with several cards at a time!

Vary the sentiments. Think about adding a thank you card, a birthday card, a sympathy card or even a basic friendship card. This way, the recipient has a card in a pinch.

Finally, I bet it would be great to receive some forever stamps in one of the envelopes!

Craft Room Storage Ideas - Ribbons, Adhesive and Ink

Happy Monday 3 Birds Fans! Raise your hand if you have somewhere that you can create and scrapbook? Hopefully, you all raised your hand! I realize that some of us probably have large, spacious rooms completely devoted to our hobby and others of us may only have the corner of the dining room table. Regardless of the space or size you have, it's usually helpful to have things stored and organized in a way that is functional, practical and maybe even pretty! We all have different systems for storing and organizing and sometimes you just have to find the systems that works best for you. Today, Design Team Members, Robbie Herring and Katrina Hunt, share how they store some of their favorite go-to craft supplies including ribbon, adhesive and ink. You are sure to get some great ideas that you can use for storing your own supplies.

Hi everyone! Robbie Herring here, to share with you how I store one of my favorite crafts supplies - ribbon. If you look in any of my galleries or have seen much of my work, you know that I seldom create a page or project that doesn't incorporate ribbon in some way. My love of ribbon started long before I started scrapbooking so I've had a large stash for years. I'm a total sucker for $1 ribbon baskets, 1/2 price sales and, as you can see from my photo, I can't pass up polka dots and checks!

Over the years, I've tried many ways to both store my ribbon and to be able to see at a glance what I have available when I'm creating. I came across these little wire baskets at IKEA a few years ago. They are the BEST! At $1.99, the price was right, too! Even better, they slid right onto my slat wall. My favorite part about this storage solution is that I don't have ribbon spools unrolling. Most basic rolls will sit right inside and stay neat and easily accessible.

Don't have slat wall? No worries, IKEA also has rods that you can use to hang these!

Hello everyone! Katrina Hunt here to share with you how I store my adhesives and inks. Since I do design team work, I have to know what I am using at all times. I am on an adhesive team and keeping all of the products in this basket makes it easy for me to grab and have everything handy!

I also like to go to crops, so a lot of my stuff is stored so that I can grab and go. These inks are just one example. My inks fit perfectly in this box (and I could get a few more in there) and I can easily slide into my crop bag at a moment's notice.

We hope you enjoyed the Craft Room Storage Ideas that we shared with you today! We'd love to see how you store your scrapbook and craft supplies. If you feel like sharing, just post a photo of it on our 3 Birds Facebook page. Who knows, maybe we'll feature your idea on our next Craft Room Storage Ideas post!

How Repetition Can Make Scrapbooking Easy

Using repetition in a layout is a great way to embellish your page without a lot of thought or time! 3 Bird’s Graceful Season is a great collection to do this with.

Katrina here to share a “Rainy Day” layout. April showers bring May flowers, right?! I used a lot of repetition on this page and if you look you can see it easily.

Rainy Days Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

The first obvious thing is the umbrella theme. I cut a couple of different umbrella shapes out with my Silhouette Cameo using multiple pattern papers. Then I moved them around until I got an order of the way I wanted them on the page. I knew I wanted one to offset the picture, so I tucked it in the corner. If you look at the picture area, all the layers seem to have movement from the left to the right. The 3D Embellishment Kit helped with that feel of movement.

Rainy Days Scrapbook Page by Katrina Hunt for 3 Birds Studio using Graceful Season Collection available on HSN.com

If you notice, the umbrellas also have repeating patterns on them. I placed sequins randomly to replicate rain, but if you look closely they have a repeating theme around the umbrellas. And then I used multiple clouds from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Chipboard set. Which, since they are “silver lined” I thought they were perfect!

So, try some repeating on your next layout. It will save you time and you will find that once you start doing it, you may just keep wanting to do it more!

Over on my blog, I have another umbrella themed project, so be sure to stop by. And don't forget to grab your 3 Birds Graceful Season collection from HSN while you're at it!
