Hi everyone. It's Robbie today. I am sharing the first layout that I have completed using the new Midday Medley Collection. This collection is another winner for 3 Birds Studio!



For the background of this layout, I started with the printed yellow paper. I've been loving the triangles that are showing up so much in scrapbooking right now, and I decided to make my background mimic triangles. I cut a large piece of white cardstock and layered the plaid vellum over the top for the bottom half of the background.



Instead of leaving the center with the paper meeting, I decided to use a long ribbon with a bow to sit between the background paper choices. I added a few of the Nestable Festival Stickers and looped the ribbon over and under places along the ribbon placement.



After adding the photos, I started embellishing. I used various sized embellishments, to build the flower cluster. The glitter flowers from the 3D Embellishment Kit are great for tucking in. Because they are on foam, they are perfect for overlapping the photos, too.

I also used some more of the Nestable stickers for the title. I put them on a heavy cardstock base and added a bit of foam behind them.

A few more details along the bottom of the ribbon and your page is complete! The embellishments in this collection made this page super quick and easy!

Nestables are Perfect for Framing

Hi Everyone! Jana Eubank here. When I have an event I want to scrapbook that includes a lot of photos, I often use a photo template to organize them in a square block or rectangle like I have done on the page below.



A problem I have run into when creating a page with a photo collage like this, is that it doesn’t leave a lot of room for decorative layers or embellishments on other areas of the page. But then I discovered the Midday Medley Nestable Festival Sticker Pad! The large sticker shapes are PERFECT for framing a photo collage. I love how the foil accent on this artisan square sticker dresses up my photos.



I used the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Kit to create coordinating accents for my page. I stamped the images using a dark orange ink to repeat the color of the copper foil on the Nestable Sticker Frame.

Home Decor | Michele Kovack

Hi there! It’s Michele Kovack here! I am so excited to be a guest for 3 Birds Studio! I absolutely adore making my own home décor pieces. I had this wooden home sign in my stash for quite awhile. (I apologize for not knowing who makes it, it had been sitting in a box and I must have thrown the packaging away.)

To create my piece I used this pretty yellow paper from the Midday Medley collection. I used Modge Podge to adhere it. I sealed it with another coat of Modge Podge and sprinkled it with coarse glitter from Martha Stewart.



I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of the fun stamps from the Timeless Stamp Kit. I stamped the picture frame and framed the pictures of my kiddos. I used the banner from the 3D Embellishment Kit and the little glittered word bubble too.



I also stamped the flower and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color it in. I added glossy accents to give it a bit shine and dimension. I stamped the leaves and added it to the letter M with a bit of black string.

Guest Designer | Michele Kovack

Today, we want to welcome and introduce Michele Kovack as our Guest Designer for May and June! She will be sharing three projects with us starting this week and then two other days in June. We are certain that you are going to be inspired by her creativity and talent!



 

Here is a little bit about Michele:

I currently teach 5th grade and I love every minute it!  I am married to my high school sweetheart.  We will be married 21 years this month. My husband  truly has been my number one fan!  My love for paper crafting came shortly after the birth of my daughter 19 years ago.  Cortney was born with severe physical and mental impairments, and scrapbooking became a way to document her milestones and the feelings I was going through.  Two years later my son, Kyle was born. It gave me all the more reason to continue scrapbooking.  Card making became the natural next step -- I figured I already had all the supplies so why not make some cards?!! And then cards led to altered projects and the madness spiraled! I started blogging in 2007, Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker,  and met so many talented crafters who had the same addiction/ passion as myself.  I am so honored to be a guest here on the 3 Birds Blog! Midday Medley Glitter Paper

It’s Mary Ann here today with a layout to share using the brand new Midday Medley collection. I am so in love with this new collection, it has a lot of my “go to” colors, pretty teals, yellows, pinks and bright summery orange too! One of my favorites from the collection is the new Midday Medley Glitter Paper Pad, with sparkly-glittery-shiny papers in 5 amazing colors. For my layout, I used the beautiful silver for the clouds and title.



I’ll have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about using the glitter paper in my Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine, but I finally gave in and gave it a try, and I must say the paper cut like butter! It cut perfectly, just like I was cutting a patterned paper or cardstock, and the best part, no loose glitter flying all over!! (Those of you that have tried other glitter papers know what I’m talking about) My Silhouette Cameo has a setting for glitter cardstock, so I did make sure to use that option, and also the double cut feature. After cutting the clouds, I added foam adhesive tape to the back to give them a bit of dimension on my layout.



And now that I’ve shown you the front of my layout, how about showing you the back?? I know most of the time we never show the back, but here’s how mine looks.



DESIGNER TIP | I cut out a large portion from the center of the hexagon paper since it would be covered by the cute cloud paper. I didn’t measure anything specific, just used my paper trimmer to cut out a large square.

From the piece I removed, I was able to cut the 2 clouds I used on the layout, and still have a large piece to use on another project too. This is a great way to make your pretty papers go further, and is especially nice when it’s a paper you love and want to be able to use every single little piece.

Playing with Midday Medley

Hi Everyone! Jana Eubank here. I am so excited for the release of the brand NEW Midday Medley collection and couldn’t wait to play with the fun accessories available to go with the papers.

I began by choosing papers to coordinate with the colors of my photographs. The coral red, black and aqua colors worked especially well with these photos.



I love that the 12 x 12 papers include TEN sheets of patterned vellum! I chose to use the floral pattern in the colors of my layout.

I picked out two circular Nestable Festival sticker frames and adhered them to the vellum. Next, I used my scissors to cut around the shape to create a fun layering shape for my scrapbook page



I used a black polaroid frame to surround my horizontal photo and then accented the top of my page with chevron stickers from the Nestable Festival sticker pad. I used the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Kit to create a banner accent to go at the bottom of the polaroid frame.



Next, I reached for the glittered 3D sticker sheets from the Midday Medley 3D Embellishment Kit. Oh, my goodness. The chunky glitter on these particular sheets make my heart go pitter patter!



A half-circle shaped sticker from the Nestable Festival Sticker Pad holds the details about this event underneath the vertical photo.

Picture Perfect Scrapbook Page

Ok, I am just going to say it….I am IN LOVE with the new Midday Medley collection. Know what I love the most? It seamlessly combines with the Graceful Season collection! How cool is that? Hello everyone, it's Katrina with a layout combining the Midday Medley Nestable Festival Sticker Pad some of the Graceful Season collection items.



If you look closely, I took (what I call) the negative of one of the sticker sheets from the Midday Medley collection and placed it on top of a charcoal sheet of paper from the Graceful Season collection. This left an open area in the middle and then little openings at the corners. I just placed some of the stars from the Graceful Season Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil chipboard set around those hexagon openings.

DESIGNER TIP | When working with the full sheet negative, do this slowly and carefully. Don’t get in a hurry!



Then I took some more pieces from the chipboard set to add a title. I punched out a few butterflies to embellish with also.



And you can see here, that I used those hexagons from the corners to add some interest around the top of my pictures.



And I have been saving this banner from the Graceful Season 3D Embellishment kit and this was the perfect layout for it. Don’t be afraid to accent the sticker pieces with other items!

Midday Medley Note Board

Hi everyone. It's Robbie. Today, I decided to make a little note board. I love small things that I can leave notes on or even give for little gifts. 3 Birds Studio products made this one really easy!



I started with an 8x8 cork square. The Midday Medley stickers come in lots of shapes and sizes, so I just chose some that fit nicely and still left plenty of room for pins to attach notes without putting holes in the stickers.

DESIGNER TIP | Although these stick really well, because I was designing on cork instead of paper, I added some Fabri-tac to make sure they stayed long term.



To embellish the stickers and to repeat the colors of the quilled flowers, I added simple stitching along the borders. I then added the quilled flowers that I made using the Graceful Season Quilled Card Kit.

DESIGNER TIP | Stitching through cork this thick can be a bit tricky. Piercing marks disappear. To solve this, I went with really simple stitches and used a needle on both sides of the floss. This allowed me to stitch from the front and just pull the floss across. I then tied it in the back.

I tied the pen on by attaching twine to the cap. It makes it really easy to remove the pen for notes.

For the background border, I used cork 'paper' attached to a light weight piece of chipboard. It gave the cork paper a more stable base. Add a square of the Midday Medley paper, a few more simple stitches, glue it to the back of the original square and you're done!

Scrapbooking Our Pets

Having a pet is a relatively new thing for me. At least an indoor pet! We have a horse, but I have always considered him to be my husband's since he is the one who rides him. Now that we have Milo, I really feel like I have a pet. He is a 10 year old Golden Retriever that we adopted last fall from some friends. Anyone who knows me can't believe that I  have an 80 plus pound, long haired dog living in my home. But, the moment I met him, I fell in love with him and he has become such a joy and blessing in our lives.



With that being said, I have of course been creating some scrapbook pages about him and the one I am sharing with you today was inspired by the title sticker. When I saw the "Our Story Begins Here" sticker in the Midday Medley Nestable Sticker Pad, I knew it would be the perfect title piece to use with this photo of me and Milo on the first day he came to live with us.



To create the layout, I added splatters of ink to the background paper. Once the ink was dry, I added an entire section of stickers from the Nestable Sticker Pad. I adhered them onto a piece of cream colored cardstock before I attached them to my layout. Next, I added a few strips of patterned paper (from the upcoming Midday Medley 12x12 Paper Pad) and chipboard from the Graceful Season Sticky Sparkly Glitter and Foil Chipboard. I love how these collections coordinate and mix so well! I also added some machine stitching with black thread.



I thought you might enjoy seeing a close up of the foil on the Nestables! I love the shimmer and shine it adds to my page!

Mixing Graceful Season and Midday Medley on a Scrapbook Page

Hi friends! It’s Mary Ann here today with a layout to share, using the Graceful Season collection, and a few pieces of the brand new Midday Medley collection. To be honest, I had already started this layout when the fabulous Nestable Festival Sticker Pad and Timeless Stamp Kit arrived in the mail. After looking through the stickers and all the cute stamps, I was so happy to see that the new Midday Medley collection coordinated so well with the Graceful Season collection! I knew I had to figure out a way to incorporate them into my layout! Here’s what I came up with…



I had already done the water coloring on my cardstock and had added the black paint splatters, the stars and patterned papers to go behind the photo were already cut and my photo was printed. I had planned on using a large white rectangle directly behind the photo to help it stand out, and that’s when I got the idea of using the yellow oval sticker! I still wanted a bit of white behind the photo, so I added the yellow oval to white cardstock, then cut around the outside edge. Using the yellow sticker added a bit more color, made a great mat for my photo and really draws your eye right to the photo.



I had to give the new Timeless stamps a try too, so I stamped the cute little TODAY stamp to add right next to my photos. Both black and brown ink along with a stamping block come in the stamp set, so you are all set to go as soon as you open the box!

Our Midday Medley collection contains 3 "mini" collections within one. Here is an example of the colors and designs in the Beyond Measure collection.



Don't you just love the wonderful details and the linen look of the stickers?

Hello You Box Card and Midday Medley Stamp Kit

It’s Katrina here on the blog today. I was super excited when I saw the new Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Set. First of all, I love the idea of stamping, but hate the idea of messing up and trying to figure out how to cut out a stamped image to use. This kit makes it so easy since the die cuts for the stamp shapes are included! Just stamp on the die cut and you are ready to create!



I have seen these box cards around the internet and wanted to create one. It was easy for me using my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file. Let’s take a closer look at the elements.

I created a little scene for the pop up part of the card. I used the Graceful Season 3D Embellishment kit and Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set along with the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp kit to do this. I knew I wanted an everyday type of card, so I started with the “hello” stamp. I stamped the hello on the pre-made die cut and attached it to part of a banner that I had from the 3D Embellishment set.



Then I added a flower cluster from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter Foil chipboard set as an accent to the “hello”. This is on a lower level, but I did use foam adhesive to pop it up a bit.



Then I decided I wanted to add the word you and the front flap was perfect for that. I just used another cut file and sized it to fit the flap. I cut it from a scrap of the flower paper that I had left from a 12 x 12 sheet and then created a shadow for it from a scrap of 6x6. I created the shadow darker to make the word stand out.



And I am kind of “in love” with the camera stamp. I colored one of the camera die cuts and then just stamped on top of it. The die cuts take color mediums wonderfully!



And here, you can see that the card folds flat for giving. Just grab an envelope and you are good to go!
