Card & Gift Box Set

Hi everyone. It's Robbie today. I am sharing a little gift set that I made using the Midday Medley Set.



The little card is 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". I like this size of card because it is so easy to embellish and have a stand-out card without spending a whole lot of time making it.

I simply layered a doily and a sticker and added a punched circle to the center of the doily. Next up, I added the bow, tucked together a few flowers and placed the little thank you sticker from the dimensional embellishment kit. Super quick and easy.



As you can tell by the size of the card, the box is a small trinket box. It actually goes together super quickly also. In fact, I would guess that it took less than 30 minutes to put it together and I'm SLOW!



Cut strips of paper to the depth of your box and box lid for the sides. Attach them with Fabri-tac. I will tell you that Fabri-tac is terrific for this type of project because it dries quickly and it won't buckle your paper.

Next use the top of the lid to trace your pattern with a pencil and cut it out. It's that quick!



Now, time for the fun stuff! Decorate the lid using some of the same items on the card. I used the same doily and the same circle in the center. I also echoed the look by adding the same 3 flowers and bow.

Tie a bow around it to close and cut a tiny tag and you're done! Another really quick project! In fact, I would estimate that you could do both of these in well under an hour!

Wedding Exploding Box

Happy June 3 Birds Fans! Juliana here and today, I am sharing my first ever exploding box! I was inspired to create this as a wedding gift while doing a search for ideas on what to create and share with you using the new Midday Medley collection. I happened across the idea of an exploding box and I immediately thought it would be fun to create one with a wedding theme.



I created a pattern based on several different boxes that I saw online. I then went to the Midday Medley 3D Embellishment Kit to select stickers that had a love/wedding theme. I planned to use these to decorate the inside panels of the box. These stickers also guided my paper choices for both the outside and inside of the box. The roses on the paper and stickers most definitely inspired me to create the large paper rose for the top of the box!



When you remove the lid, the box "explodes" to reveal the inside of the box which also includes a gift.



I layered the 3D stickers with punched and cut pieces of patterned paper.









I created a money holder using a large scallop circle punch and smaller circle punch.





To create the large rose on the top of the box, I used my Silhouette Cameo and a digital cutting file. I cut the rose using a piece of cardstock from the Bazzill Basics Olivia Cardstock Kit. I then finished off the box top with a stamped die cut from the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Kit and an organza bow.

Extra Graceful Season Projects - Part 1

As you know, our design team has been busy creating brand new projects to share with you, right here on our 3 Birds blog, since the release of our Graceful Season collection. Some of them have also been busy creating "extra" 3 Birds projects that they have shared on their personal blogs. Today, we wanted to feature a couple of these projects with you just in case you haven't seen them yet. We'd hate for you to miss any 3 Birds inspiration!

First up, we have a scrapbook page created by Katrina Hunt featuring her ever adorable furry family. We especially love how she used the printed floral paper on this layout to create a beautiful corner accent for her photo! This layout coordinates with a pocket style scrapbook page that appeared on our 3 Birds blog.

Birdhouse Gift Box

Hi Everyone! Jana Eubank here. Each month I visit a few ladies in my neighborhood and each time I go to see them I like to take them a little gift of some kind. Since it is Springtime I thought it would be fun to create a birdhouse shaped box cut on my digital die cutting machine.



The inspiration for my paper choices for the birdhouse was spring itself! While I was out on a walk the other day I noticed the purple crocus flowers pushing their heads up through the ground, as well as bunches of purple rockcress making its appearance in the rock walls around the neighborhood. I used these flowers as my cue and chose to go with the small purple floral paper from the Graceful Season 12 x 12 Premium Paper Pad. For the roof, I selected the complimentary gray and white polka dot.



This cute box is a cut file designed by SVG Cuts. I just love the way the roof comes off. It’s the perfect size for a small bottle of fragrant hand lotion and a handful of treats.

I decorated the front of the birdhouse with pieces from the Graceful Season 3D Embellishment Kit and Graceful Season Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set. The dimensional “Grateful” banner sticker looks so cute and welcoming hanging above the opening to the birdhouse and the flowers were the perfect accents to the die cut leaves.

Milk Carton Candy Tote

Hi Everyone! Jana Eubank here. What better way to tell someone “Thank You” than with a pile of their favorite candy inside a darling container? I created this cute Milk Carton Candy Tote using my digital die cutting machine and the soft palette of supplies from the Graceful Season collection.



For the tote, I used the aqua paper with the scattered daisies a long floral sticker and the word “Dream” from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set. In between each letter I added white pearl stickers from my stash.



The milk cartons were created with an aqua/white geometric patterned paper to coordinate with the tote. The smaller pink/white diagonal stripe paper accents tie in with the wide diagonal stripe on the tote.

I tied the cartons closed with a length of white cotton string and added the “Thank You” tag from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set. When using a sticker for a tag, be sure to pop the piece out of the carrier sheet, leaving the backing in place so that it can dangle and move. (This will prevent it from adhering itself inadvertently to your project.) I couldn’t resist embellishing the tag and added a few more white pearls and 3D flower stickers. The best part of creating this treat container was decorating it. I even decorated the back!

Just Because Quilled Card and Pillow Boxes

Hi! It's Robbie today to share my latest project with you. For my project today, I used the Quilled Cardmaking Kit. Let me tell you, it is TERRIFIC! It is loaded with quilling strips and so many different cards and sentiment pieces to make card making.  It not only makes it easy, but it allows you to create fabulous cards that you will be happy to share! I've enjoyed making this so much, that I created another set to share with you and you can see it on my blog - Just The Scrap!

I also created a couple of little pillow boxes to go with the card. The Quilled Card Kit is great for other projects, too. It perfectly coordinates with the rest of the Graceful Season Collection.



Included in the kit are shadowbox cards. These are great and easy to assemble. I should mention here that I've never done Quilling before, but also included is a really easy to follow instructions for both the quilling and card assembly. Want more? Well, the tools you need are in there, too!

The scalloped pieces are fun to use in other ways, too. I added the scalloped pieces to the inside of the card for a bit of extra detail.



I want to share couple of details that I figured out to make it easy for me to attach everything to the shadow boxes. Since these aren't flat, I found it helpful to build my flower and leaves on top of small punched circle. When making the leaves, I followed the included directions, but left a small amount of paper at the end. I attached it to the bottom of the flower as shown. By doing it this way, I was able to attach the leaves without worrying about glueing them to the box.



For this little flower bud cluster, I started by folding one piece of the green paper in half and curling the ends for each cluster. I added the other pieces to the inside of the fold and then glued the fold closed. I liked the way that this hid all the end pieces so that the cluster looked neater. The basic instructions for all the pieces are include in the instructions. I simply tweaked them to suit my personal idea.
