Decorated Jar Candles | Raechelle Bellus Guest Designer

Today is our final post from our November Guest Designer Raechelle Bellus. If you are looking for a great idea for Christmas gifts, then the project she is sharing today is just perfect. She has taken two simple jar candles and turned them into beautiful gifts that now shine with the warm touch of love and joy that is so much a part of the upcoming holiday season.

Below she shares the instructions on how she decorated each jar using the Touch of Glimmer Embellishment Kit and Flora Festival Premier Page Kit.
Find Joy Candle:
Cut a strip of paper to desired width from the Flora Festival Page Kit (mine are about 1.75") and then wrap and adhere around the jar.

Adhere a base piece to the front using one of the various die cut shapes included in the Touch of Glimmer Embellishment Kit. Then layer some die cut banner shapes and a gold chipboard banner piece. Next adhere the chipboard sentiment piece and top off with a beautiful gold bow and gold sequin.

Lid: Cut a die cut to a circle shape, adhered it and then topped it with one of the 3-D Stickers.



You Sparkle Candle:
Cut a strip of paper to desired width from the Flora Festival Page Kit (mine are about 1.75") and then wrap and adhere around the jar.

Adhere a base piece to the front using a die cut shape from the Touch of Glimmer Embellishment Kit (I cut mine down to fit). Continue layering using die cut and chipboard pieces. Finish off with a piece of the twine and silver sequins.

Lid: Adhere a die cut circle shape and then top with a a 3-D sticker and a few more silver sequins.

Creating quick and pretty cards has never been easier! The Touch of Glimmer Kit is full of amazing bits and pieces that will provide endless possibilities and inspiration. Just pair it with the cards from the 'Flora Festival' Premier Page Kit and you'll spend just minutes creating a perfect homemade card for someone you love.

This card took less than 10 minutes to create. I don't think I have ever had a card come together so quickly. I just started pulling the beautiful gold accents from the Touch of Glimmer Kit and layering them upon a pre-made card from the 'Flora Festival' Premiere Page Kit. It was that easy. I added some of the lovely gold sequins in the kit to finish it off.

For this card I added a small piece of paper from the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit that I punched and then adhered to a pre-made card from the same kit. I then added some twine. I trimmed down one of the larger pieces from the Touch of Glimmer kit and then punched the edge and adhered at a slight angle using dimensional foam. I used the cute typewriter and sentiment chipboard stickers from the page kit and added the circular sticker and sequins from the the Touch of Glimmer Kit to finish this one off.

I began by cutting a piece of patterned paper a little smaller than the premade card and machine stitched it. I then adhered it to the card. I also used a small piece of punched paper to pull some color into the card which I layered underneath the pennant. Next I added the beautiful gold pennant and layered the tag and bow from the Touch of Glimmer Kit upon it. I finished it off with the chipboard sentiment and pearl from the Page kit. I sprinkled a few gold sequins to finish it off.

3 Birds Guest Designer - Raechelle Bellus

Today, we are pleased to welcome and introduce to you our November Guest Designer - Raechelle Bellus  from All Things cRAEtive! She will be sharing several projects with us this month, starting today, and then two other days this month. We are certain that you're going to be inspired by her creativity and talent! We will begin by sharing a little bit about Raechelle wiht you. Below that, you will find a beautiful scrapbook page that she created using our Flora Festival Page Kit.



Hi! I'm Raechelle Bellus (pronounced Rachel) and I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for 3 Birds Designs this month! My husband, myself and two youngest daughters took a huge leap of faith this past summer and relocated from Spokane, WA to Rosenberg, TX. It's been an adjustment, especially to the humidity, but we are enjoying the transition. I have been married for almost 16 years and we have a blended family of six children; four who have left the nest and are busy with their careers and/or creating families of their own and two remaining at home, although we will be down to just one shortly. We are a strong military family- my husband served in the Marine Corps, our son in the Army, and three of our daughters represent the Navy; one just got out, one just re-enlisted and one leaves for Basic Training in early December. We also have two sons-in-law who currently serve in the Navy and Army. I homeschool our youngest daughter, which is new for us this year, but it has been a wonderful adventure for us and allows us a lot of flexibility. She suffers from Crohn's Disease, arthritis and Scoliosis and while thankfully she is doing well now, I am a strong advocate for her.

I have been scrapping for about 13 years now and have been published multiple times and served on design teams of all types. I enjoy creating projects of all types, from cards to off-the page pieces. I am inspired most by patterned paper, especially floral prints, woodgrain and stripes. I use a lot of machine stitching and distressing on my projects.

In my free time I like to read and spend time with my family.

For this layout I wanted to create some movement and energy. I began with the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit  and used die cuts to cut the leaves. I then misted them using several colors, curled them and allowed them to dry for dimension. I added several machine-stitched circles to add some visual movement as well. Placing the photo at an angle, I randomly added the leaves and some gold sequins from the Touch of Glimmer kit to give the effect of falling leaves. I finished this off with some of the wonderful chipboard and dimensional stickers from the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit.

Beautiful Cards | Michele Kovack

Today is our final post from our Guest Designer Michele Kovack. We have thoroughly enjoyed having her guest design with us and we have been so inspired by all of the projects she has created and shared with us using the Midday Medley collection! Thank you Michele!!!

Michele Kovack here with my last post as guest designer for 3 Birds Studio.  I have really enjoyed being here and working with such great products!  I have two cards today to share with you.

I really wanted to use the cute sticker found in the Embellishments kit.  I had never done a "sun rays" card before but thought I would try my hand at it as a background for my sticker. I used the yellow designer paper from the  12 x 12 Midday Medley Collection.  I also used a pretty die from Spellbinders to help "ground" the sticker.  The diecut was covered with glossy accents and sprinkled with Martha Stewarts' coarse glitter.  I added a bit of white puffy paint to the clouds and sun rays, and a few sequins.  Finally, I tied a ribbon and used a flower sticker from the 3-D Embellishments kit for the center. 

My second card uses one of the pretty shaker stickers.  I thought it would make a pretty engagement or wedding card.  I stamped the frame from the stamping kit in Versamark and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder.

I adhered the sticker directly on top of it.  I added another one of those Spellbinder frames underneath it. (No glitter this time though! LOL!)  I layered two different designer papers from the 12 x 12 Midday Medley Collection.  I added a bit of seam binding, sequins in gold, and pearls to their centers.

Princess Scrapbook Page | Michele Kovack

Hello 3 Birds Fans! Today, Michele Kovack joins us to share her second project using the new Midday Medley collection. She created a beautiful scrapbook page that we just know is going to make you head over heels in love with Michele, her daughter Cortney and the Midday Medley collection!

Hi there! Michele Kovack here! I am thrilled to be sharing a layout of my daughter, Cortney today on the 3 Birds Studio blog! I had taken these pictures of my daughter during a pageant she had participated in and knew I had to scrap them. I used the Midday Medley Paper Pad and the Nestable Festival Sticker Pad.  I created a frame using the stickers and then used a heart stencil and embossing paste to add a bit of texture.



I absolutely love the glitter paper packs and created a large rose and leaves with it!



I used the various frames and stamps to create a collage of sorts.  I changed one of the shaker stickers from the Midday Medley 3D Embellishment Kit by adding black enamel paint to the frame.  I wanted to be sure it popped off the page!





I love the flower stamps and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.  I added a layer of glossy accents and a bit of glitter to the centers.

Home Decor | Michele Kovack

Hi there! It’s Michele Kovack here! I am so excited to be a guest for 3 Birds Studio! I absolutely adore making my own home décor pieces. I had this wooden home sign in my stash for quite awhile. (I apologize for not knowing who makes it, it had been sitting in a box and I must have thrown the packaging away.)

To create my piece I used this pretty yellow paper from the Midday Medley collection. I used Modge Podge to adhere it. I sealed it with another coat of Modge Podge and sprinkled it with coarse glitter from Martha Stewart.



I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of the fun stamps from the Timeless Stamp Kit. I stamped the picture frame and framed the pictures of my kiddos. I used the banner from the 3D Embellishment Kit and the little glittered word bubble too.



I also stamped the flower and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color it in. I added glossy accents to give it a bit shine and dimension. I stamped the leaves and added it to the letter M with a bit of black string.

Guest Designer | Michele Kovack

Here is a little bit about Michele:

I currently teach 5th grade and I love every minute it!  I am married to my high school sweetheart.  We will be married 21 years this month. My husband  truly has been my number one fan!  My love for paper crafting came shortly after the birth of my daughter 19 years ago.  Cortney was born with severe physical and mental impairments, and scrapbooking became a way to document her milestones and the feelings I was going through.  Two years later my son, Kyle was born. It gave me all the more reason to continue scrapbooking.  Card making became the natural next step -- I figured I already had all the supplies so why not make some cards?!! And then cards led to altered projects and the madness spiraled! I started blogging in 2007, Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker,  and met so many talented crafters who had the same addiction/ passion as myself.  I am so honored to be a guest here on the 3 Birds Blog! Their products are so fresh and fun! ~Michele
