17 Turtles + 3Birds Creative Team Up | Happy

Welcome 3 Birds fans! It's Juliana of 17turtles Digital Cut Files and I'm so excited to be teaming up with 3 Birds Design this week. I have loved working with digital cut files for many years on my scrapbook pages and when you combine them with great paper crafting products, such as 3 Birds, you definitely have a winning combination!

To create this layout about me and my mom, I used the 17turtles Butterflies No. 1, Random Lace Flowers and This Is Magic cut files.

The background piece is cut using the Random Lace Flowers and a piece of patterned paper from the Flora Festival Kit. This paper cuts beautifully using the Patterned Paper settings on my Silhouette Cameo.



The Butterflies No. 1 is cut from the glitter paper that is part of the Midday Medley collection and the butterflies are about 1 inch in height. The 3 Birds glitter paper cuts like butter using the Glittered Cardstock settings on my Silhouette Cameo. I adhered the butterflies to the layout using double sided foam tape to give them some added dimension. I clustered them with stickers from the Sticker Flair Mega Kit and chipboard pieces from the Flora Festival Kit.



The final touch was to add a title using the This Is Magic cut file and more of the Midday Medley glitter paper.

Pumpkin Pie Anyone?

Happy Fall 3 Birds Fans! With fall comes something that I love very much - Pumpkin! I love the color, the shape and the taste of anything made with pumpkin. Especially pumpkin pie. With fall in the air, I was inspired to scrapbook these photos of the pies (including pumpkin) that my Mom's make each year for our Thanksgiving dinner. Our family tradition is for everyone to have a slice of both the pumpkin and the pecan pie.





I used quite a few stickers from the Nestable Sticker Pad to "frame" my photos. I then dressed it up with some gold sequins from our new Touch Of Glimmer Kit which will be debuting on HSN on October 7.

I did my journaling on one of the cards from the For All Seasons Themed Card Kit and then added a couple of stickers from the Sticker Flair Kit.

Welcome Fall Wall Art Frame

Can you feel it? Fall is in the air, and I must admit I’m a little more than ready for this change of seasons!

Although, living here in Southern California we don’t actually “see” a whole lot of difference between summer and fall, so the change of seasons takes place in our home décor. It’s Mary Ann here today with a fun piece of home décor that will welcome friends and family as the leaves start to fall.

To start, I cut a leaf shape using my Silhouette Cameo. This could also be done by looking for a leaf shape online, printing the image outline, then cutting the leaf out with scissors. Next, I tore small pieces of five different fall colored papers from the Midday Medley 12x12 Paper and Vellum Pad and glued them randomly to the leaf shape. After the whole leaf was covered with the various papers, I turned the leaf over, and cut off any overlapping patterned papers.

I glued the leaf to a piece of cardstock, then machine stitched around the outer edge.



DESIGNER TIP | Don’t like to sew? Use a marker to draw around the leaf instead of sewing to achieve a similar look

To finish it off, I added the scalloped shaped sticker that I backed with a scrap of cardstock, and the letter stickers from the Sticker Flair Kit along with the die-cut word welcome.

This was so much fun to make, and would be a great project to get the kids involved with by having them help with the paper tearing. So how about you, are you ready for fall?

Quick & Easy Cards & Tags Using Scraps

Hi everyone! It's Robbie today to share some cards and a tag inspired by... ME! Seriously, why not stretch an idea even further? Recently, I made a two page layout (Zoo Fun Day) for the 3 Birds Design Studio blog and I was really happy with the color combination that I ended up using. While it was all sitting on the table, I realized that I had a lot of scraps and all the supplies at my fingertips which led me to make a couple of quick cards and tag to have on hand.

If you were to look back at my layout, you will notice that in addition to the paper and color choices, I also repeated a lot of the same techniques and elements that I used on the layouts. It really made these come together quickly.

The colors that I used in the layout happened to really compliment kraft paper, too. I used a little pre-made kraft tag and added a kraft bag to the photo to show the whole set.

Using the same doilies and stitching ideas that were on the layout worked nicely for the cards, too.

DESIGNER TIP | When stitching the doilies for cards, be sure to stitch them ahead of time and adhere them after. This will cut down on trying o cover the backside of your stitching on the inside of the card.

More details that were copied from the original layout and used on the cards include the punched borders, the ribbons and even the same pearl goodies.

Remember next time you make a project you like to think about getting some cards or tags made to have on hand! It's always great, especially with the busy holiday season around the corner, to have these handy when you need them!

Quick & Easy Masculine Birthday Cards

Welcome 3 Birds Fans! Juliana here to share a couple of quick and easy masculine birthday cards. I love to create more than one card when I have my supplies out and that is exactly what I did when I sat down to create a birthday card for my husband who just recently celebrated his birthday.



 

The first thing I did was to go through the stickers in the Sticker Flair Kit looking for some masculine looking birthday sentiments and I found the "Happy Birthday" and "Best Wishes" stickers.



I then pulled out some of my scrap papers that I had coordinated and had a masculine feel. Then it was just a matter of cutting and trimming the papers to size. To finish each of them off, I added some pearls from the new Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box. Who ever said that jewels are just for girls?

Speaking of girls, while I had all of my 3 Birds out on my scrapbook table, I decided to make a couple of quick & easy feminine birthday cards as well. Visit my blog - 17turtles - and you can see them!

Mini Golf Scrapbook Page | September Sketch Challenge

It’s sketch time here on 3 Birds again and this month we have a two page sketch! It's Katrina with you today and here is my take on the September Sketch. I changed things up quite a bit, mainly the pictures and direction they were. This, of course, caused me to change a lot of other things!

On all my layouts, I like to add embellishments to the corners. Here I added a couple of chipboard pieces from the Graceful Season Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set, teamed up with a doily!

And here I teamed up some more chipboard, with some of the stickers from the Sticker Flair kit. To add the twine, I just ran a thin line of glue along the top of my stickers once they were on my page, then laid the twine on top. To create the loops, I just used a Zot from ThermOWeb to hold the loop in place. I tied the bows separately and attached them with a Zot also.

Here, I combined the Sticker Flair kit along with the new For All Seasons Project Cards. I trimmed one down to fit into the area I needed it to and popped stickers on top of it.

And I wanted to add a little journaling, so I used another card from the For All Seasons cards. It had a blank area at the top, so I just added journaling strips to that area. Confession, I was going to journal in white pen straight on the card, but forgot and adhered the card down! So, I improvised with the journaling strips!

And I broke down the sketch into a one page layout. You can see that layout over on my personal blog Paper, Scissors and Glue. You can find that layout HERE.

Creative Cards

Hi friends! Do you like making cards, or are you like me and have a hard time creating if your project isn’t 12x12? It’s Mary Ann here today, and I actually do like making cards, but sometimes I hit that creative block if it’s not a 12x12 scrapbook layout. So how about a few cards that still use creativity, but are super simple and easy to put together!

First up is this “hello” card that I created. I started with my cardstock base, then added the floral background card from the new 3 Birds Studio Themed Cards Set which is coming to HSN in September.

Next, I fussy cut the flower cluster from a coordinating paper, and added it with foam tape. I used alphabet stickers from the new Sticker Flair kit, and sprinkled a bit of glitter from my stash. To finish off the card, I adhered a few gems from the soon to be released Pearlescent & Foil Goodie Box Set. The gems really set it off and add a touch of color and shine!

For my second card, I went with another simple design by using a block pattern made of 1” squares I cut from coordinating papers.

After I had all my squares cut, I added them to my card base. Next I layered the two journaling spots from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set, and topped them off with the vase of flowers piece from the 3D Embellishment Kit.

Hello, My name is Ardyce Seabrook and I am an artist at heart! I love all things crafty but I am especially passionate about scrapbooking and card making. I started creating about 12 years ago and once I started I haven't been able to stop. My scrapbooking style is pretty much whatever makes my heart content. I usually don’t have a plan, I just go with the flow. My creative flow always gets going with 3 Birds products. My products date back to when 3Birds first aired on HSN. From Ritzy Ribbon, Chick Chipboard, to the Goodie Box Of Embellishments & Sticker Nestables, their line of products always come together to make my pages look stunning. I'm on a mission to make as many scrapbook pages and cards that will decrease my inventory! (Yea Right!) I am a Mother, Wife, Daughter and Sister. I love my family and life. I am so excited to be the Guest Fan this month and truly hope my creations will inspire your next project.



First, I wanted to share my layout I created with the 3 Birds Sticker Flair Kit. It's jammed packed with over 3000 stickers and they are so yummy, gorgeous, and beautiful! With so many choices I instantly knew I wanted to do a banner that included my pictures and as many stickers that it would allow.

First I selected a solid sheet of colored cardstock from the 3 Birds 180 piece Olivia Premium Cardstock Kit. Next I chose stickers that went well with the cardstock. I inked the edges to add dimension to all the stickers then I pop-dotted my photos and stickers that were added to the banner. I created my own flag banners by cutting down 2 long stickers and wrapping them around toothpicks and then I tucked them behind my photos in the center of the page.



I almost never journal, its very rare. I feel the right title and/or subtitles may be all you need to tell your story and explain your pictures. I chose the word "Sisters" as my title. With all the alpha stickers included in the kit I wanted to add a special touch to my title by creating a special word for each letter in the title. It really adds meaning to the pictures in the layout.



Lastly I added a border sticker at the bottom of my page for some foundation and going from the bottom up I added a few quote stickers, some chevron stickers and some bling as my final touch.



I also created a beautiful Summer card with the Sticker Flair Kit as well. I used the leftovers from the sticker sheets that I used on my layout. I inked the edges of these also.

What I usually do (whether it's a layout or card) is lay everything down until I'm satisfied with how it looks or where everything's placed for my design. With stickers I cut each of them out and leave them on their backing. When I'm satisfied with my design I just peel them off of the backing and stick them down. I added some free hand stitching around the card.



One chevron sticker came off the edge of the card on purpose so I could cut it with the shape of the card making it almost look printed on there. I pop-dotted the summer sizzle sticker, tucked a heart sticker behind it with adding some glitter to it. Lastly I added some sequins around the circle floral sticker to complete the card.



It really has been a sizzling summer and I hope you really enjoyed my creations today!
