4th of July Firework Table Decor

Hi friends, it's Mary Ann! Here in the states we will be celebrating the 4^th of July holiday this week with lots of fireworks and backyard barbecues, so I thought I would make a fun piece of décor to decorate my home and bbq table. I’ve used pieces from both the Graceful Season collection and the Midday Medley collection to create it!

To start, I cut the floral paper to 8” x 12”, and the stripe paper to 5” x 12”. I added the stripe paper to the floral paper and glued the long edges together to make a cylinder. This will be the body of the firework.

Next, I added the yellow circle sticker from the Nestable Festival sticker pad to a scrap of the “this & that” paper, and glued it to the top of the cylinder.

I used my die cutting machine to cut out the pieces of the celebrate label, and added it to the front of the cylinder.

To make the “starburst”,  I cut a 1” strip of floral paper (the piece that was left over from making the body of the firework works great for this!)  and rolled it into a small cylinder. Next I added small pieces of red and yellow strips of quilling paper from the Quilled Card Making Kit, topped several of them off with some punched stars, and then glued the starburst to the top of the firework.

Frame Your Embellishments

Ok, have I mentioned that I am loving the black trend in scrapbooking? Well, if I did, I am doing it again! Katrina on the 3 Birds Studio blog today to share a layout mixing the Midday Medley and Graceful Season collections!

The minute I saw the framed paper, I knew that THIS was what I wanted to do with it. Those frames were just begging to be cut out and filled with embellishments. I popped in one of the 3D embellishments from the Midday Medley collection in this framed area.

Before we get too far into pictures, I wanted to show you the back of my layout, just so you have an idea of how I did this. I used my Xacto knife to cut out the insides of the frames and then I just backed them with pieces of pattern paper. This is great for scraps you have laying around. I not only backed them, but I popped up the pattern paper pieces with some foam adhesive to give some dimension to my layout.

I also used a sticker from the Nestable Festival Sticker set. I love to layer things, and mixing the stickers along with the embellishments is right up my alley! And the 3D Embellishments from the Graceful Season collection, work quite well with the Midday Medley collection.

And then, of course, the frames are perfect for a little journaling (or a lot?!). You can pick one, or multiple frames to journal in, the choice is yours! I used a Signo Uniball white gel pen for my journaling, in case you were wondering!

Celebrate and Midday Medley

Happy Friday Everyone! Chasity here today to share a layout using the Midday Medley Collection! One of the reasons paper crafting is so appealing to me is watching creativity blossom in so many different ways with the very same supplies! Our team is given the same tools, yet each one of us builds such wonderfully different, creative projects!



This layout focuses on the Midday Medley Paper & Vellum Pad. I used the hexagon background paper, the black frame paper, the small rosette paper and the vellum frame paper to create this layout. I grabbed my small scissors, and went to work! I wanted to really focus on the cool frame paper included in the pad, and the printed vellum is just beautiful.



I cut out frames from both the vellum frame paper and the black frame paper, and then arranged them on my page. Next I cut out the flower groupings and added them as accents to the frames. I used adhesive foam squares to pop up the frame and title banner to add some dimensional interest to the layout.



The adorable camera sequin box was perfect for a quick and easy embellishment as well! I really love it when I can just grab a pre-assembled embellishment, and add it to my project easily! Lastly, I added the matted photo of the baby of our family…. Chloe. Yes, she has her own basket on my bike, and yes… she absolutely loves going on bike rides with us!

Heritage Scrapbook Page and Midday Medley

Hi friends! It’s Mary Ann here today with a new layout to share using a bit of the Graceful Season collection and also the Midday Medley collection. I am so in love with Midday Medley, the colors are so bright and pretty, and so on -trend. With teals, mustard yellows, pinks and salmons, it sounds like the perfect colors for spring and summer photos. But what about old black and white photos? Yep, Midday Medley is perfect for those too!



To start my layout, I cut strips of various pieces of the patterned paper, punching a few with a scalloped edge punch and then adhered the strips to the cardstock. To add a bit more color to the white cardstock, I brushed just a bit of paint on the edges, and splattered a little here and there right on top of the paper strips. I really wanted my photo to stand out, so I added the circle and scalloped edge stickers from the Nestable Festival Sticker Pad directly to my photo, then added the photo to my layout. Next I added journaling that I typed on the computer, and the cute “I love this” arrow.



Since this is an old heritage photo, the “for the record” chipboard seemed like the perfect embellishment piece. I added those cute little clouds just for fun, and a few sequins from my stash.

Shaker Box Tutorial and Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Kit

Happy Wednesday 3 Birds Fans! It's Juliana, here today to share a tutorial on creating a shaker box and card using the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp Kit! 

SHAKER BOX TUTORIAL | Begin by selecting the two die cut shapes from the Timeless Stamp Kit. Use the corresponding frame stamp with the open shaped die cut. Color in the design as desired. I used a waterproof ink and a combination of India Ink Markers and watercolors. This will be the front of the shaker box. Next take the frame shape that doesn't have an opening and add a large circle cut from glitter paper to the center. This piece will be the back of the shaker box. 

Cut a circle from a piece of clear plastic packaging. Make sure it is larger than the opening on the frame, but not larger than the frame. Adhere it with liquid glue. I used Glossy Accents.


Add a border of double sided foam tape around the frame piece. I ended up doing two layers of the foam tape so that the sequins had room to move. If you are going to use beads instead of sequins, make sure that the foam tape is placed close together or the beads will fall out.



Once you have added the tape all the way around in two layers, you are ready to fill it with sequins or beads or both!



Remove the tabs from the foam tape and adhere the back side to create your shaker box. Now you are ready to attach it to your card.


I also added some roses and leaves from the Timeless Stamp Kit to further embellish the shaker box. I colored these with watercolor.

Here you can see the two layers of foam tape.

I also added a sentiment to the card using Versamark Watermark ink and Gold Embossing powder.

Happy Birthday Scrapbook Page

Hi everyone. It's Robbie today. I am sharing another layout that I made with the Midday Medley Collection. This layout combines the paper, stickers, embellishments and stamps that are included in the Midday Medley Collection.

I started with a 3 inch strip of blue paper for the design base and added a strip of pink stripe and a strip of green dot paper to each side. The green was punched using a scalloped border punch.

The vellum sheets are really terrific and the floral print is great for cutting out bits of flowers to layer with your dimensional embellishments. I cut out a few of the flowers and leaves and tucked them behind the flowers. I also cut a some of the floral stickers that were included in the sticker pad and layered them behind.



For balance, I added a few of the embellishments to the top edge. I used the sticker pad layered on top of a doily as the base.

DESIGNER TIP | When speaking of balance, another thing I try to keep in mind is working in 3's or odd numbers. The stickers that I added to the centers of the doilies are not identical, but they do coordinate with each other.

A little more embellishing at the top corner of the photo to help with movement on the page and also to serve as framing was added.

You might have noticed the little butterflies that I've tucked in here and there in the embellishing clusters. These are actually little bow stamps from the stamp set, but when I first saw the die-cuts, I thought they were butterflies. I decided to go with that! I turned them upside down and added little adhesive pearls to the centers.

Card & Gift Box Set

Hi everyone. It's Robbie today. I am sharing a little gift set that I made using the Midday Medley Set.



The little card is 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". I like this size of card because it is so easy to embellish and have a stand-out card without spending a whole lot of time making it.

I simply layered a doily and a sticker and added a punched circle to the center of the doily. Next up, I added the bow, tucked together a few flowers and placed the little thank you sticker from the dimensional embellishment kit. Super quick and easy.



As you can tell by the size of the card, the box is a small trinket box. It actually goes together super quickly also. In fact, I would guess that it took less than 30 minutes to put it together and I'm SLOW!



Cut strips of paper to the depth of your box and box lid for the sides. Attach them with Fabri-tac. I will tell you that Fabri-tac is terrific for this type of project because it dries quickly and it won't buckle your paper.

Next use the top of the lid to trace your pattern with a pencil and cut it out. It's that quick!



Now, time for the fun stuff! Decorate the lid using some of the same items on the card. I used the same doily and the same circle in the center. I also echoed the look by adding the same 3 flowers and bow.

Tie a bow around it to close and cut a tiny tag and you're done! Another really quick project! In fact, I would estimate that you could do both of these in well under an hour!

Michele Kovack here with my last post as guest designer for 3 Birds Studio.  I have really enjoyed being here and working with such great products!  I have two cards today to share with you.

I really wanted to use the cute sticker found in the Embellishments kit.  I had never done a "sun rays" card before but thought I would try my hand at it as a background for my sticker. I used the yellow designer paper from the  12 x 12 Midday Medley Collection.  I also used a pretty die from Spellbinders to help "ground" the sticker.  The diecut was covered with glossy accents and sprinkled with Martha Stewarts' coarse glitter.  I added a bit of white puffy paint to the clouds and sun rays, and a few sequins.  Finally, I tied a ribbon and used a flower sticker from the 3-D Embellishments kit for the center. 

My second card uses one of the pretty shaker stickers.  I thought it would make a pretty engagement or wedding card.  I stamped the frame from the stamping kit in Versamark and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder.

I adhered the sticker directly on top of it.  I added another one of those Spellbinder frames underneath it. (No glitter this time though! LOL!)  I layered two different designer papers from the 12 x 12 Midday Medley Collection.  I added a bit of seam binding, sequins in gold, and pearls to their centers.

Mixing Midday Medley and Graceful Season

Hi 3 Birds Fans! Juliana here. I hope you're enjoying your summer! Last summer, I had the opportunity to go to a swim meet for our friend's daughter. The entire experience brought back so many wonderful memories for me, because I used to swim competitively in high school and college. Of course, while we were there, I had to take some photos. I've been holding onto them for nearly a year and I finally found the perfect papers and stickers to use with them....our new Midday Medley collection! I didn't stop with the Midday Medley products though, I also used some chipboard and foil paper from the Graceful Season collection as well. I seriously love how these two collections coordinate so well together!


I used one of the large frame stickers from the Midday Medley Nestable Festival Sticker Pad behind the photos and then two of the chevron stickers that have foil accents on them. These chevron stickers inspired me to add some punched stars from the Graceful Season Foil Paper for some additional shimmer.



As you can see, I also used some of Graceful Season Sticky Sparkly Chipboard Kit pieces to create my title and to add other accents to the page.

Playing With Patterned Paper

Hi friends, it’s Mary Ann here today with a layout to share using the new Midday Medley collection.

When my 12x12 Paper & Vellum pad arrived, one of the first things that caught my eye was the cute black paper with the hand drawn frames. I loved the look, and knew I wanted to make a layout with it, but I wasn’t sure how to add my photos. After pushing the photos around here and there, I got the idea to add them to the back of the paper so it looked like the pictures were actually framed by the paper.



To start my layout, I cut out a framed area where I wanted to add a photo. I’m not too good at using an x-acto knife, so I just used my scissors to cut out each shape. After I had each area cut out, I added my photos to back of the paper. I also cut out a few extra shapes and added the fancy pink and white striped paper behind those.



Next I added the sweet little “adored” shaker box from the Midday Medley 3D Embellishment kit. I love the shaker boxes, the gold sequins inside look so pretty and sparkly on my layout! They would be so cute on a card too!



To finish my layout, I fussy cut the flowers from one of the other Midday Medley papers, and added them with foam tape for a bit of added dimension. I also added a few pearls from my stash, and wrote my journaling with a white Uni-Ball Signo pen.

Then and Now Layout and Father's Day Card

Ok Friends! Chasity here! Who has a time machine I can borrow? Whoa! Where has the time gone? There is just no way that I am old enough to have an adult child already…Yep, I am in complete denial! It seems like just yesterday I was watching them take their first steps…(sigh) I know, I know, that’s why we scrapbook… To hold on to those moments, right!?!



Today I am sharing a layout that I did using the Midday Medley Collection. Have I mentioned how much I love the glitter paper we have put in this kit!?! This Paper Pack includes an 8” x 8” pad of shimmery glitter paper in coordinating colors that just make me swoon! I love how versatile it is! Use a little, or a lot. It cuts like butter, even in electronic die cut machines and adds glamour and sophistication to any project!

I created this layout to show just how beautifully the Midday Medley products coordinate! I love the triangle trend happening right now, and of course, paper bows made from glitter paper are just the right touch to any project!





I love that the stamp kit comes with coordinating die cuts to stamp on. It really is a time saver! I stamped the “&” and “Love this” on the die cut pieces and loved how easy it is to line them up!

I added a sequin box from the 3D Embellishment Kit to finish off the layout with some Bling!



…And just because I can’t stop playing with these glitter bows, I made this Pinterest inspired card for my girls to give to the best Dad in the world for Father’s Day this Sunday!!
