Mixing and matching colors and patterns is easier than ever with the Graceful Season Collection. Designer Mary Ann Jenkins loves this collection and shares a fun graphic scrapbook page to show how easy it is to work with.
Hi 3 Birds friends, its Mary Ann here today with a layout to share, and a little tip too!
The day my box of the beautiful new Graceful Season collection arrived, I looked through each and every paper, every sticker and embellishment. Right away, I loved the color collections, and especially loved that if I wanted to use orange papers, that the 3D stickers with a touch of orange on them would match perfectly. Or if I wanted to use purple papers I knew the purple alphabet letters were exactly the same color. Everything is mixed and matched so well, the battle of “what to use with what” is gone, which leaves more time for what we all love, playing with paper!
For my layout, I knew I wanted purple to be one of the main colors to match the purples in my photo. It also had some teal, so picking a complimentary color was easy.
I decided to use three different patterns. Since the photo has a busy background, I used one large section of each of the different papers. A scrap of paper comes in handy to sketch out the design I wanted to use, just in case I didn’t like how it looked or if I made a mistake. I didn’t want to waste any of my pretty papers!!
After I had my papers and photo adhered, it was time to add my title. I used a combination of chipboard stickers and alphabet letters from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil Set.
DESIGNER TIP | Now here’s a little tip. Remember how I mentioned the photo had a busy background? To help the purple alphabet letters stand out, I added just a tiny scrap of white cardstock behind the openings of the letter “d” and “a”. Filling in those small centers helped define the middle of each letter, which then makes the letters really stand out from the busy background.
