Welcome to Day 3 of our National Scrapbook Celebration Week here on the 3 Birds Studio Blog! So did you like how we teased you yesterday? Well, we are in the teasing mood again today! Here is another sneak peek for you. Any guesses on what this might be? If you think you might know, leave a comment below!
We also have a scrapbook page to share with you from Mary Ann Jenkins. She has some great tips on how she scrapbooks her old family photos, that are sure to inspire you to pull your old photos out of those shoe boxes and to get them in an album!
Hi friends! It’s Mary Ann here today with a layout using a photo from 1970. It’s no secret that I love scrapping old family photos, whether black and white or color, there’s something about an old photo that is so much fun to look at! The hair styles, the clothes and even the cars give us a peek back in time to see what was popular back then.
A lot of times, when I scrap old photos I will “clean up” the photo in photoshop to give it a brighter and more correct color. Unfortunately, so many photos from years ago have either changed color with time, or were never processed correctly so they have a yellowish-green tint to them. For this layout though, I kept the photo just as it was, and embraced the greenish tint and even coordinated my embellishments to match!
I used the journaling chipboard from the Sticky Sparkly Glitter & Foil set along with the letters and numbers for my title and date.
The “total fave” 3D embellishment was a perfect addition to tie in the colors of my photo and patterned papers. I added two banner pieces underneath it that I cut from white cardstock to make the embellishment just a bit longer, and add of pop of white at the bottom of the layout too.
