Thanksgiving Fall Table Decor Ideas

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and with it the start of the holiday season. Hello 3 Birds Fans! It's Juliana here today to share with you some quick and easy ideas for dressing up your Thanksgiving table with some of your favorite 3 Birds products! Thanksgiving Fall Table Setting by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design

I love to decorate for all of the holidays and I enjoy making the table "look pretty". However, I didn't want it to be too fussy looking and I didn't want to spend hours and hours decorating! I created a set of Thanksgiving place settings and a Fall framed home decor piece to help dress up the table. I'm sharing the details of the place settings below and you can visit my blog - 17turtles - to learn more about the Fall framed home decor piece.

To dress up each place setting, I selected 4 of my favorites cards from the For All Seasons Themed Card Kit. There are a ton of cards in this kit that are perfect for fall/autumn and Thanksgiving projects. I then mounted each card on a piece of coordinating patterned paper for a nice framed look.

I then finished the embellishing with a bow from the Touch of Glimmer Kit. I am planning to use one of the bows that didn't coordinate with my project as a template to create more bows so that I have one for each table setting.

I will then collect the cards and the photos that I take and turn them into a little mini album to record the memories of the day.

I Believe in Santa Claus | Scrapbook Page

Hi everyone! Robbie today to share a page that I made. I'm ready for the holiday season to begin and with all the great choices of new products from 3 Birds, I couldn't resist making a Christmas page!

I Believe Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design

The title sticker was a natural fit because of the photo, too. I chose it because it echoes the print on Mom's shirt.

DESIGNER TIP | I added foam to the back of the sticker to make it easier to layer and to match up with the dimension of the other embellishments.

More layering was added with the flat stickers that were used for design and the terrific poinsettias that are included in the quilling kit. Here, I used pink centers to continue the non-traditional color choices.

The final touches include a big bow and more bits and pieces from the Quilled Card Kit Holiday season Edition.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Here We Grow Again!

Hey Everyone! It’s Kimberly Bloom here. Who, you ask? Well, I’m just one of the many "behind-the-scenes" girls at 3 Birds. I wanted to share some exciting news for all you 3 Birds Quilling Fans!

Drum roll please…. You can officially find our Quilling products in all Hobby Lobby Stores!

3Birds at #hobbylobby #quillingI took a visit the other night to check it out and take some pics. I just love Hobby Lobby and I always find myself trying to run in and out of the store, but instead end up spending 2 hours browsing around. I ended up picking up a bunch of Christmas craft items and splurging on new décor items for my girls' bedroom.

I finally made my way over to the Quilling section and did a little happy dance in the aisle. I’m sure the security crew was laughing at me through the cameras!

3Birds at #hobbylobby #quillingRight now, you can buy our Quilling Starter Kit, Wood Template and Crimper Tool. I visited the store in Akron Ohio, which only had 1 of each item left in stock. Hopefully your store will have plenty to go around, they are flying off the shelves! We are hoping to expand with more items in 2015 so stay tuned!

Never tried our crimper tool before? You can create some really unique shapes by running your quilling strip through the gears. It’s so easy to use and a tool that you can keep in your stash forever. Here are a few shapes we created by crimping the quilling strips!

3 Birds Guest Designer - Raechelle Bellus

Today, we are pleased to welcome and introduce to you our November Guest Designer - Raechelle Bellus  from All Things cRAEtive! She will be sharing several projects with us this month, starting today, and then two other days this month. We are certain that you're going to be inspired by her creativity and talent! We will begin by sharing a little bit about Raechelle wiht you. Below that, you will find a beautiful scrapbook page that she created using our Flora Festival Page Kit.

Raechelle Bellus Guest Designer for 3 Birds Design

Hi! I'm Raechelle Bellus (pronounced Rachel) and I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for 3 Birds Designs this month! My husband, myself and two youngest daughters took a huge leap of faith this past summer and relocated from Spokane, WA to Rosenberg, TX. It's been an adjustment, especially to the humidity, but we are enjoying the transition. I have been married for almost 16 years and we have a blended family of six children; four who have left the nest and are busy with their careers and/or creating families of their own and two remaining at home, although we will be down to just one shortly. We are a strong military family- my husband served in the Marine Corps, our son in the Army, and three of our daughters represent the Navy; one just got out, one just re-enlisted and one leaves for Basic Training in early December. We also have two sons-in-law who currently serve in the Navy and Army. I homeschool our youngest daughter, which is new for us this year, but it has been a wonderful adventure for us and allows us a lot of flexibility. She suffers from Crohn's Disease, arthritis and Scoliosis and while thankfully she is doing well now, I am a strong advocate for her.

I have been scrapping for about 13 years now and have been published multiple times and served on design teams of all types. I enjoy creating projects of all types, from cards to off-the page pieces. I am inspired most by patterned paper, especially floral prints, woodgrain and stripes. I use a lot of machine stitching and distressing on my projects.

In my free time I like to read and spend time with my family.

For this layout I wanted to create some movement and energy. I began with the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit  and used die cuts to cut the leaves. I then misted them using several colors, curled them and allowed them to dry for dimension. I added several machine-stitched circles to add some visual movement as well. Placing the photo at an angle, I randomly added the leaves and some gold sequins from the Touch of Glimmer kit to give the effect of falling leaves. I finished this off with some of the wonderful chipboard and dimensional stickers from the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit.

Creating Cards With the Same Base

Hello 3 Birds Fans! It's Juliana here, from 17turtles, and I'm sharing two cards that I created using the same card base. I love how different, yet similar, the two cards look because of this. It also shows that all you have to do is switch up the colors, patterns and sentiments to get a new look and feel. Both cards are created with products from the new Flora Festival Page Kit and the Sticker Flair Mega Kit.2 Different Cards Using the Same Base by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design

To create my "A Happy Hello" card, I used two stickers from the Sticker Flair Mega Kit to create the background piece behind the sentiment piece.

A Happy Hello Card by Juliana Michaels for 3 Birds Design

I cut the banner sticker in half and placed one piece above and the other piece below the chipboard tag.

I then added pearls from the Flora Festival Page Kit and a twine bow.

I again used stickers from the Sticker Flair Mega Kit however this time I began by trimming a piece of patterned paper from the Flora Festival Page Kit to create the base for my embellishments.

I cut the banner shape from a scrap of paper that is part of the Graceful Season Paper Collection. I then layered various stickers from the Sticker Flair Mega Kit.

The final touch was the addition of the layered chipboard sticker, as the sentiment, and the pearls which are both from the Flora Festival Page Kit.

I hope you enjoyed the idea I share about using the same card base to create two similar but different cards. If you are looking for more ideas on using the new Flora Festival Page Kit to create cards, check out the punched border cards created and shared by Katrina Hunt.

Sugar Sweet with the Flora Festival Page Kit

Hi everyone! Robbie today to share a page that I made that focuses on the Flora Festival Premier Page Kit.

Sugar Sweet Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design featuring the Flora Festival Page Kit

There are so many great elements included in the Page Kit! Everything from paper and dimensional stickers to chipboard and card making pieces are all at your fingertips and perfectly coordinated!

Sugar Sweet Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design I added simple long stitches to compliment my design. Adding a few pearls from the Pearlescent and Foil Goodie Box added some red to places that I wanted to pull the red in throughout the design.

Sugar Sweet Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design This close-up lets you see some easy layering, a couple more pearls and the letter stickers. When making titles, think about mixing up the colors or fonts with your letters. Because she was holding a lollipop, I wanted to add in sugar. I was able to keep the title and message in the red, but add that extra word in a fun way!

Sugar Sweet Scrapbook Page by Robbie Herring for 3 Birds Design You can see in this photo the way I added the long stitches. It is such an easy and quick way to add detail without a lot of hassle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Robbie
